Pest control reminder texts and letters for recurring service

Recurring pest control lives or dies on access: a locked gate, a dog in the yard, or a customer who forgot you were coming turns a 20-minute stop into a wasted trip. Here's how to automate pest control reminders that cut those trips, plus templates for every point in the service cycle.

The reminders a pest control route needs

  1. Service due (about a week out): for quarterly or bi-monthly customers, a notice that their next service is coming and when.
  2. Day before: date, arrival window and the prep you need (gate unlocked, pets inside, sprinklers off).
  3. On the way: optional, useful for interior treatments where someone must be home.
  4. After service: what was treated and any re-entry or drying instructions.
  5. Re-treatment check: for problem accounts, a check-in a week or two later asking if activity has dropped.

Use your pest control software's reminders first

Most pest control platforms (GorillaDesk, PestPac, FieldRoutes and others) include appointment notifications. Turn those on before building anything, because they already know your route and schedule. One limitation to know: GorillaDesk's public Zapier app only has actions (Add Booking, Add Customer, Add Lead) and no triggers (GorillaDesk on Zapier). Zapier can feed web leads into GorillaDesk, but it can't start a reminder when a GorillaDesk job is scheduled. Use the built-in notifications for that.

If you schedule in Jobber or Housecall Pro, both expose job events on Zapier (Jobber: New Job Created, Job Closed; Housecall Pro: New Scheduled Job, New Completed Job), which you can use for the after-service and re-treatment messages (Jobber, Housecall Pro).

DIY version: a sheet and a daily run

If you run a small route from a spreadsheet, keep one row per customer: name, mobile, address, service frequency, next service date, gate code or access notes, pets yes/no, text consent date. A daily scheduled Zap or n8n workflow then:

Frequently asked questions

What should a pest control reminder text include?

Your company name, the date and arrival window, and the prep you need (unlock the gate, keep pets inside, clear under sinks for interior work). Add a way to reschedule and opt-out wording.

When should I send pest control service reminders?

Send a service-due notice about a week before recurring visits and a day-before reminder in the afternoon. Interior visits can also get an on-the-way text.

Can I trigger reminders from GorillaDesk with Zapier?

Not directly. GorillaDesk's Zapier app only has actions (Add Booking, Add Customer, Add Lead), no triggers, so use GorillaDesk's built-in notifications for reminders.

Should I mention chemicals or drying times in the text?

Only accurate, product-specific instructions taken from the label and your state's rules. Keep the text short and link to more detail if needed.
